The EU Leonardo programme aims at developing the quality, innovation and European dimension in vocational training systems and practices through trans-national co-operation. The objectives of the programme are to:

- Improve the skills and competencies of people, especially young people, in initial vocational training at all levels.

- Improve the quality of, and access to, continuing vocational training and the lifelong acquisition of skills and competencies, particularly in order to consolidate technological and organisational change.

- Promoting and reinforcing the contribution of vocational training to the process of innovation, with a view to improving competitiveness and entrepreneurship.

The Project

AgroPlan

Agroplan is an initiative that is aimed at helping to support effective farm management and planning and in particular through further stimulating entrepreneurship and innovation. The Agroplan team are developing information, training and advisory packages that are primarily focused on farm business planning, marketing and diversification, promoting agricultural sustainability and environmental issues and encouraging farmers associations and self help groups. Agroplan also encourages the further uptake of quality assurance programmes in agriculture.

Our project is partly supported by the EU Leonardo programme and as part of this programme partners are preparing and disseminating vocational training materials, case studies, examples and visual images. Partners also organise information seminars, participative training workshops, specific pilot projects and exchanges between specialist trainers and advisers

We work closely with farmers, advisors, training institutes and policy makers throughout Europe and we are always interested in making new contacts and receiving new ideas. We work closely with our partner programme FReLECTRA. This programme has the specific aim of assisting rural communities to capitalise on the development of new electronic technologies primarily through developing and disseminating information, implementing training programmes and linking software and service providers with producers, packers and traders.
