The EU Leonardo programme aims at developing the quality, innovation and European dimension in vocational training systems and practices through trans-national co-operation. The objectives of the programme are to:

- Improve the skills and competencies of people, especially young people, in initial vocational training at all levels.

- Improve the quality of, and access to, continuing vocational training and the lifelong acquisition of skills and competencies, particularly in order to consolidate technological and organisational change.

- Promoting and reinforcing the contribution of vocational training to the process of innovation, with a view to improving competitiveness and entrepreneurship.

Title: Training of Trainers in Bulgaria

The aim of the two-day seminar organised by the Bulgarian partner in the project BB&T Ltd., was to contribute to the improvement and further development of the training for farmers in Bulgaria through presenting the Vocational Training Manual developed by the AgroPlan Project to selected Bulgarian trainers (Country Trainers).

It is expected that they will further-on train farmers in topics selected by the AgroPlan partners and included in the Manual.

In this context, the specific objectives of the training were:

  1. to present the Manual content to the Country Trainers;
  2. to advise the Country Trainers on the training approaches adopted by the AgroPlan project;
  3. to discuss with the participants in the seminar and to hear their opinion on:                   
      •  the most interesting topics for the Bulgarian farmers
      •  the main target groups to be addressed in the future
      •  training methods and materials developed
