Title: Training of Trainers in Italy

The Key trainer’s workshop in Italy was held on the 20th April from 9 am to 5 pm at the ARSS of Avezzano in Abruzzo, central Italy.

The objective of the workshop was to introduce the selected Key trainers to the AgroPlan teaching manual, which is intended to provide the latter with concrete support and examples to create the training intended for the final beneficiaries and created by the Key trainers themselves.

The workshop was attended by all selected 7 KT. Due to a high demand for participation in the workshop, the Italian AgroPlan team agreed to invite 6 observers to participate on a voluntary basis as a mean to divulge information about the AgroPlan project in Italy. The key trainers represented the various geographical areas of Italy with participants coming from northern, central and southern Italy. They have a varied professional background in the agriculture sector, ranging from director of a horticultural enterprise to agri-economists. The intention was to have as broad a viewpoint as possible for exchange of experience and good practices from various regions of Italy and thus to complement the discussions during the workshop.

All the key trainers and invitees present at the workshop were interested in progressing with the training workshop for the final beneficiaries, also on a voluntary basis. This indicates not only the high level of interest, but also reflects and confirms the need for vocational training in farm management, production planning, entrepreneurship and innovation for the farming sector with the use of ICT in most of Italy, as detailed in the AgroPlan country report for Italy
